Wednesday Night Worship and Prayer

Hi all,??

For a while now you've been hearing about plans I've had to start a monthly night of worship and prayer at St Paul's. ??I had been very excited to initiate this as it is something I feel is very important to where we are as a church. ??Then it snowed… Then it snowed again… and again. ??

Well, THIS Wednesday, from 7-8 or 8:30 we will finally get this underway! ??Before we do, I wanted to just share my plan and vision for what these nights will be. ??

We have had worship nights in the past: ??Big celebrations of musical praise and worship with some teaching thrown in. ??These worship nights will not be like that. ??They will be focussed time of centered worship and prayer. ??Most of the music played will be on the quieter side to encourage people to break out into groups and pray, or pray individually. ??In fact a lot of the songs we will be doing may be songs you do not know. ??But they will be simple songs that are very repetitive to make it easy to learn and follow along. ??I don't want people looking up to see the words, I'd rather have you all just be bathed in worship as you focus on The Spirit.

It is my vision to be a church that actively participates in our faith… Not a congregation of spectators. ??I want people to worship as they feel led, and pray as they feel led. ??I am encouraging members of the prayer team and worship team to be present at these worship nights… Even if they are not playing/singing or acting as prayer ministers. ??This will be an amazing opportunity to come together as a community and a congregation to flood this space with prayer and worship! ??

There will be a microphone available for people who feel led to share prophetic words or to pray over the night/community/congregation. ??I would just ask that if you feel led to step up to the mic, please limit what you have to say to under a minute as, often times, an open mic can be viewed as an opportunity to "preach" or to use it as a soap box. ??I want to limit the use of this to??encouraging??words and prayers that will build up the congregation.

Amazing things happen when you truly enter into worship. ??From this comes healing, prophetic words and prayers and a deep connection with God. ??The Bible says the Lord is "enthroned ont he praises of his people." ??I encourage you all to come build the Throne of God this Wednesday from 7-8 (or 8:30 depending) and every 1st Wednesday of the month!

Come Early Sunday

This Sunday we're??having one service at 5pm.?? Please come early.
??
In order to make this switch work, we need to end our serives at 6:15 to not interfere with children's bedtimes.?? Our services have been running 1 hour 20 and over.?? We can't have that.?? One simple solution is to start on time (we usually start 3 to 4 minutes late).?? Another simple solution is to cut down on message times a bit (I'm fine with that).
??
But let's start our services on time with people ready to worship.?? I think this will be a great change as I generally lose interest after??1 hour and 15 minutes anyway and I'm the pastor!
??
See you Sunday!

Parking

This Sunday we’re having one service at 5pm.  And the good news is we have parking for you all.

The back lot behind the building has been cleared.  So we can use that as well as our regular parking spaces.  We should have no problem accomodating all vehicles Sunday.

This Sunday: 1 Service 5pm!

On Sunday we'll be having one service at 5pm.?? And we'll keep this schedule for the immediate future.
??
From results from the survey last weekend were decisive.?? People want one service at 5pm.?? ??
??
For the first question (one service or two) the top three responses were strongly prefer one service (37%), somewhat prefer one service (35%), or no preference (17%).?? EIghty??nine percent??either want us to change or are ok with the change.
??
For the second question (4pm, 5pm,??either one) the top two responses were??either one (48%) and 5pm (44%).?? Ninety two percent either want a??5pm service or are ok with either.

All Clear: The Building is OK!

This afternoon a structural engineer inspected our building.????He declared it safe for us to use again.

??

There is no need to find other locations for regularly scheduled meetings.?? We'll resume our regular worship schedule this Sunday in our chapel.
