"Loving Neighbors" Brimfield updatePosted: September 12, 2011
Ray and I were privileged to be part of the work day in Brimfield, Mass this past Saturday. Our day was spent at one home, clearing the driveway and areas close to the house of fallen trees. Most of these trees were pines. While there we spent some time with Trapper, the homeowner. He asked us to spread the word that he is eager to get rid of the pine wood. Anyone who has a use for it – especially those with outdoor furnaces, fire pits or open fireplaces – is free to come up and take as much as they like. If you are interested and would like his phone number, call Ray or Pam. Please pray for Trapper’s health. He is healing from a tractor accident which crushed one leg, but he also suffers from type 2 diabetes and has to sleep in a recliner due to breathing problems. As we were saying good-bye, I put my hand on his shoulder and prayed for him. It touched me deeply to open my eyes and see that he had removed his hat during the prayer. Also, Trapper and his wife Linda have adopted a number of area cats who were abandoned after the storms. If anyone would like a kitten there are two that are already a few months old and one of the cats will be having a litter any day now!
